Buyer guide
Architecture questions to ask before you buy
A strong procurement process tests ownership, integration, operability and risk. These questions help move the conversation beyond the feature list.
Data and identity
- Which platform is the system of record for customer, interaction and consent data?
- How are identities resolved across voice, digital and CRM channels?
- What data leaves the region, and what evidence supports residency claims?
Integration and orchestration
- Which integrations are product capabilities and which are custom services?
- How are retries, duplicate events and partial failures handled?
- Who owns orchestration when a journey crosses CRM, CCaaS and AI tools?
Operations and resilience
- What can local operations teams change without a release?
- How are routing, prompts, knowledge and models promoted between environments?
- What is the tested behaviour when a dependency or AI service is unavailable?
Governance and commercial risk
- How are automated decisions logged, reviewed and challenged?
- Which consumption metrics can change the commercial model?
- What is the practical exit path for data, configuration and integrations?
Use the answers in design
Record the evidence, assumptions and owners. A question only reduces risk when its answer changes the architecture or contract.
